Privacy Policy for QuickPaint Chrome Extension

Information We DO NOT Collect

QuickPaint does NOT collect, transmit, store, or share any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number, address, etc.)
• Browsing history or website URLs you visit
• Webpage content or screenshots you view
• IP addresses or device identifiers
• Analytics or usage statistics
• Cookies or tracking data
• Any other personally identifiable information

What Data Stays On Your Device

QuickPaint stores the following data ONLY on your local device using Chrome's local storage API:

1. Your Drawings: The pen strokes and annotations you create on webpages
2. Your Preferences: Your chosen pen color, line thickness, and tool selection
3. Your Settings: Toolbar position, "close after copy" option, and "confirm clearing" preference

Important: This data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your computer. We cannot access it. No one else can access it. It is not transmitted to any server.

No Third-Party Services

QuickPaint does NOT use:

• Analytics services (Google Analytics, etc.)
• Advertising networks
• Third-party tracking tools
• External servers or databases
• Cloud storage services

No Data Transmission

QuickPaint operates 100% locally on your device. The extension:

• Does NOT send any data to external servers
• Does NOT communicate with any remote services
• Does NOT upload your drawings or screenshots anywhere
• Does NOT transmit webpage content or URLs

Your Clipboard Data

When you use the "Capture Screenshot" feature:

• Screenshots are copied directly to your system clipboard
• This data remains on your device only
• We do not intercept, store, or transmit clipboard contents
• What you paste and where you paste it is entirely under your control

Permissions Explained

QuickPaint requests the following Chrome permissions for functionality only:

Data Retention

Your drawings and settings remain in Chrome's local storage until you:

• Clear the drawings using the "Clear" button
• Uninstall the extension
• Clear your browser's local storage data

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View your data: Open Chrome DevTools → Application → Local Storage
• Delete specific drawings: Use the "Clear" button in QuickPaint toolbar
• Delete all data: Uninstall the extension from chrome://extensions/
• Export your data: Not currently supported (data stays local only)

Children's Privacy

QuickPaint does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect any data at all, the extension is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will update this policy and the "Last Updated" date. Since we currently collect no data, any future changes would only expand privacy protections or explain new local-only features.

Open Source Transparency

QuickPaint's code can be reviewed to verify our privacy claims:

• All functionality is contained in the extension files
• No obfuscated code or hidden data collection
• You can inspect the source code in chrome://extensions/ (Developer mode)
